VILLEINS return to UVA OLLI for Spring 2025

Following our successful collaboration with the University of Virginia’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) in 2024, where we delved into HAMLET, the Queen Charlotte’s Villeins were delighted to return for the Spring 2025 semester. This time, we explored selected scenes from MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING and THE TEMPEST, engaging with participants in a more spontaneous and interactive format.

Unlike our previous structured sessions, this collaboration emphasized open discussion and on-the-spot analysis. We served as visual aids to enrich the experience, fostering a dynamic environment where participants could immerse themselves in Shakespeare’s intricate narratives and themes.

Sadly, we do not have photos from these sessions. However, the enthusiasm and insights shared during our time together were truly memorable.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Henry McHenry, Jr., who once again invited us to contribute to his OLLI class, and to all the participants who brought their passion and curiosity to each session.

Participating Villeins:

  • Ben Atkinson
  • Benedict Burgess
  • Catherine Gilbert
  • Jane McDonald
  • John Rabasa
  • Audrey Scialla
  • Michael Swanberg

We look forward to future collaborations and the continued exploration of Shakespeare’s timeless works in  our signature, VILLEINS style!
